No Reply Ephemera Box

No Reply Ephemera Box

from $95.00

When collectors visit my house, we inevitably explore my shelves. Of all the things that could draw the eye, the first thing noticed is often not a book but a box – the box I’ve made to store my own copies of No Reply’s ephemera. Again and again I get the question, “What’s that? Can I get one?”

Every collector must find a way of storing ephemera, but few seem particularly satisfied with their solutions. Therefore, for those in search of a way to store No Reply’s broadsides, chapbooks, and other odds and ends, I am making replicas of my own box. Each is roughly 10 by 13 by 4 inches, wrapped in a textured black paper for easy gripping and handling. The spine features a letterpress label, “NO REPLY,” in red and black. The press’ entire ephemeral output to date fits in the box, with room to spare.

ARCHIVAL SLEEVES

I have tested over a dozen brands of archival sleeves for durability, lightfastness, ability to maintain flatness, strength against corner bumping, etc. and have found one that I consider the best. All ephemera and chapbooks in my own collection are now housed in these sleeves. While not necessary, I recommend pairing your box with them. If you are planning to use your box for ephemera including chapbooks, I recommend 20–40 sleeves. If you are planning to use your box for only loose sheet ephemera, it could fit up to 100 sleeves.

Please note that these boxes will be made to order and, therefore, will only ship on occasion. There may be an unusually long wait for your box!
