Ephemera – the smaller typographic output of a private press – can be a good way to acquire a wide sampling of the press’ work. They serve as amuse-bouches. While the pieces themselves can be wonderful, they are loose-leaf and hard to know what to do with! Therefore, we have crafted clamshell boxes for their storage and display. These can be placed on a shelf among any library of books.

We are offering two collections – broadsides and unbound leaves. These can be ordered separately or together. The exact contents of each Ephemera Collection will vary based on availability, but each will include a minimum of six pieces.

BROADSIDE COLLECTION

• To-date, the press has produced seven broadsides, most with the input of our Broadside Collectors Club.

• Available enclosed in a handmade clamshell box, lined with red and black French cloth and a letterpress spine label.

• 1st State will include broadsides which are no longer publicly available. 2nd State will primarily include materials otherwise available and some items may be Épreuve d’Artiste or have minor defects (such as a stray ink mark).

• Broadside collections will include other available ephemera – checklists, bookmarks, prospectuses, and the like.

UNBOUND LEAVES COLLECTION

• Each book edition produces leaves. Overages, sheets with stray marks, one-sided proofs, layouts with typos, sheets overinked or inked with the wrong color. Each is a look “behind the scenes” in one way or another. An unbound leaves collection will consist of between one and two dozen pages from across our editions.

• 1st State will include leaves from rarer editions (say, Jack and The Masque of the Red Death). 2nd State will primarily include leaves from available editions and may have some minor defects.
