Emily Dickinson’s iconic poem, Hope is the thing with feathers, is here printed alongside a woodcut by the Dutch master Samuel Jessurun de Mesquita. Often paired with the imagery of songbirds, we have chosen an owl as a reminder that oftentimes hope is the wisest course.
